Architecture and interior design concept project for a getaway house in the mountains.

Rather than imposing itself on the landscape, the architecture is humble. The design embraces restraint, both in form and materiality, offering a space that feels grounded.

One of the most important parts of the project was opening the house up to the outdoors. Large windows and doors frame views of the mountains and forest, letting light flood the interior and giving the feeling that you’re still outside even when you’re in. On warmer days, the house can open almost entirely, turning the inside into part of the landscape.

Materiality plays a central role in crafting the emotional tone of the interior. The palette is dominated by natural wood, handmade ceramics, stone flooring, and textiles in neutral tones. Nothing is excessive. Every surface is quiet, every detail intentional. Even the furniture appears as an extension of the architecture, integrated, modest, and honest. What emerges is a house that doesn’t demand attention but invites reflection. A space where time slows down, senses are heightened, and the mind finds room to wander. It resists trends and resists spectacle, instead, it offers something far more lasting: a deep, quiet connection to place.

Designed with intention and reverence for its setting, it provides a soulful experience of rest and retreat, where every detail fosters peace, simplicity, and a sense of belonging to the natural world. The goal behind the design wasn’t about making the house stand out, it was about creating a space that feels right.
